Sudesh Mantillake is an artist-scholar and arts administrator working at the intersection of dance, philosophy, education, healing, and activism. He was the William F. Quillian, Jr. Visiting International Professor at Randolph College (Virginia, USA, 2024–25). He holds a PhD from the University of Maryland, an MSc from the University of Lugano (Switzerland), and a BA from the University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka). Trained in Kandyan dance, Kathak, theatrical clowning, and contemporary dance, he has presented work across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. A former Head of the Department of Fine Arts and Chairman of the Arts Council at the University of Peradeniya, Sudesh serves as Vice-Chair (Dance) of ICTMD Sri Lanka and on the Research Committee of IACAET. His performance works My Devil Dance, Mask and Myths, and the film In Search of Ravana examine colonial exhibitions and mythic identities.
